Richard M. Stallman, explaining the free software concept, said
“Free software” is a matter of liberty, not price. To understand the concept, you should think of “free” as in “free speech”, not as in “free beer.”Then, a group of students in Copenhagen decided to "see what happens when an open-source structure is applied to a universally known product." Being students, they chose beer.
