To our anonymous Bloglines subscribers

We see that 32 individuals have done us the honour of subscribing to our humble feed. However, only seven of them have done so publicly. We're wondering now, is it our breath? Are we an unfashionable URL to admit to reading? Do tell. You could mail and satisfy our curiosity. Or hit the comments section on this post.

  4. Hi Pete,

I have been a regular reader of your blog, though I don't know if I have linked you in my blog roll. Problem is I am learning the funda of blogroll and making slow progress.

Also, can I link you on my blog for a reciprocal link on yours?

    (:best:)

  5. Hmmm. I have no idea what it means to subscribe to a feed. Normally, I just feed, without any subscriptions!! But your blog is one of few listed at my site, so I figure you know that I approve of ya! Particularly the hair ...

  6. people have their own reasons to subscribe private to a blog. If you ask everybody to be a public subscriber it is something like asking all visitors to comment on posts. there might be silent readers and private subscribers are similar to silent readers.

BTW I'm a public subscriber. All blogger blogs have atleast 3 feeds. So did u check all the feeds to find out the number of subscribers?

Even in my blog, 50% of the bloglines subscribers are anonymous.

  7. Thanks for taking the trouble to answer, folks.

Kaps, gosh, no, I wouldn't dream of asking people to only subsrcibe publicly. I only wondered why there were so many anonys.

Oh, and the three feeds bit. Care to explain?

  9. Ah. Was wondering about the "All blogger blogs have atleast 3 feeds."

Not true, technically. The feedburner feed is not native to blogger. I set that up seperately. The "?buser=" bit has always puzzled me. I know I only enabled the atom.xml feed. Is the buser a legacy of some old blogger system?
