Panography

Panographies are wide-angle pictures composed of several individual photos manually stitched together. When these component photos are assembled, they give the impression one would get standing in one place, looking around and unconsciously putting the pictures together in one's head.
From http://www.photojojo.com/content/tutorials/panographies/ were you should go for a full explanation and some examples.

And If you're turned on by this, check out the Panography Flickr group: http://www.flickr.com/groups/panography/

Lovely image. I've tried it a few times in the past by keeping my camera focused on one thing, then panning it around 90 degrees or so slowly, all the while clicking.

Problem is that I have no clue how to 'stitch' those images together. Any ideas?

Oho, I think David Hockney makes very fun composite photos like this.
